For this year, we went up north for our June lakwatsa. La Union was our first destination. June 8 Friday we checked in at this highly reviewed Thunderbird Poro Point. Checking in was a breeze though there's several groups ahead of us.
Enough of the talking and let me take you to Thunderbird Poro Point La Union.
we stayed at Room 208.
I wasnt able to request for a King Size Bed but it turns out 2 beds are better since we have a super active baby.
Seeing this after the exhausting long travel was a breather.

It's true, toiletries are by VMV. Nakaka sosyal lang. ;-) However, only 1 oral set is provided, are they expecting that we just share the toothbrush?? And by the way, wala na rin yung Off Lotion na nabasa ko sa mga blogs. Hindi pa naman ako nagdala ng off lotion.
Minutes after, room service delivered the welcome fruits.
We went out to check the resort but suddenly it rained and so we just stayed inside the room.
Around 6pm when room service delivered another 2 bottles of water and the 4 pcs of hersheys chocolate. Hmmm... di ako masyado natuwa sa chocolates. Sana dinagdag na lang sa fruits or kahit wala na lang nito, gawin na lang 2 ang toothbrush. ;-)
Daddy bee went out to capture the beauty of the resort at night.
The next day was a sunny one.
Strolled for sometime before we head to Olive's for the Breakfast Buffet. Yay!

I initially had this muesli-a mixture of untoasted dry cereals and fruits. Sarap nito! ;-)
Then this plate. Their buffet spread was not that wide. The usual breakfast buffet plus muesli. But I enjoyed this more than Taal Vista's breakfast buffet. ;-)

Pagkatapos ng almusal ay swimming naman.
Ayun at nagmamadali na ang mga sabik sa tubig
Tama ang assessment ko. Aside from swimming and casino na malayo rin naman sa hotel, wala ka ng ibang pwedeng gawin dito sa resort na ito. Overnight is enough para makapag pa picture sa sinasabi nilang mala Santorini (pasensya I havent been to Santorini sa pelikulang The Sisterhood of Travelling Pants ko lang nakita kaya di ko pwede ikumpara)
Nag enjoy ako oo dahil panibagong tanawin ang nakita ko. Kung mala Santorini, hmmm.... di ako sigurado. Basta ang mga nagustuhan ko sa Thunderbird Poro Point:
- tahimik, nakaka relax talaga
- malaki ang room, sakto sa 3-4 persons family
- furnitures inside the room are ok
- breakfast buffet sakto lang
- plus factor sa akin ang libreng gamit ng bike paikot
- ocean view as it faces the South China Sea
- bath room is clean
And points of improvement:
- the place is far, i wouldnt think of going back just to see Thunderbird, not unless there will be more to see
- the resort itself is far from the town, maybe they should offer free transfers to/from the town to the resort
- about the room, pansinin nyo yung bed, hindi pulido ang pagkakaayos, maybe housekeeping training pa for their staffs. one bed has new beddings, pero yung isang kama, medyo magaspang na yung beddings.
- TV remote is hard to press kaya tinulugan ko na lang sya.
- again the toothbrush pls provide 2 sets not just 1. u may just remove the chocolate giveaway, mas ma appreciate ko pa yung kumpletong toiletries.
- walang hand towels na pinoprovide naman kahit saang hotel ;-)
- and the guy in the reception. marami na rin syang bad feedback sa travel websites at totoo pala, may pagka antipatiko sya. pagdating pa lang namin iba na yung dating nya, hindi sya welcoming. Nagmamadali na wala sa lugar. When we checked out sya rin ang nag assist sa amin, bini bill nya ako sa bagay na di naman namin na consume or kinuha. Sabi daw yun nung nag check sa room namin I asked him to check it again, ayun wala nga, nag sorry sya pero hindi sincere. Nag smile lang sya nung binigyan na nya ako ng feedback form. Bukod tanging sya lang talaga ang ganun dun, lahat naman ng nakausap at napagtanungan namin sa La Union mababait sya lang may ganung attitude.
Those are just my two cents worth. What matters is that we enjoyed our stay in Thunderbird.;-)
