fUN aNd LaUgHteR at ViLLa eScUdeRO

Late 2011 when our nurse sister lance decided to go to another country to work, since then we started to plan for our get together. Originally planned for a week in boracay in September 2012 but for some reasons her vacation was moved earlier. And so we just decided to have an overnight bonding at Villa Escudero.

Came July 17, as early as 5:30am we are on our way to Jam Liner Station in Kamuning. We asked the taxi driver to drop us at the nearest Jolibee so we can have our breakfast.

We waited almost an hour for the bus to get full. Bus fare costs us Php 154.00 each. And we left Cubao past 7am, so we went thru Edsa's traffic rush hour. The travel time from Cubao to the drop point to Villa Escudero took us 3 long hours. We dont mind the waiting time, dahil pag kami ang magkakasama walang sayang na oras.
The excited cute boy upon arrival at Villa Escudero

At the check in counter we were served their gulaman as a welcome drink. Check in was fast. We chose the non aircon house for Php 2,415 per pax inclusive of 3 meals, tour of the museum and use of the facilities. We were advised that check in was supposed to be at 11am. That was only 10:15 in the morning but we asked if we could proceed to our room so we can rest and change to our resort wear.
Then we were ushered to the carabao cart that will bring us to the resort proper.   Posing with sexy, I assumed sexy is the name of the carabao. ;-D During the transfer, staffs are singing Filipino folk songs to give tourists that province feel. My favorites are "Katakataka" and the song about "Kalabaw as a mode of transportation".

We were welcomed by this cute lamp located at the overnight guests' lobby. And opportunity for some more pictures.

After a few minutes we were handed our key and we immediately proceed to our room. We stayed at their Calachuchi room. Im so glad that we did not stay at one of their river side huts since we have a hyperactive baby with us.

After changing, we prepared for our lunch buffet at the falls.

And the souvenir shot while we're having our lunch. This is my second time here at Villa Escudero.

The girls as they enjoy rafting at the Lawa ng Labasin. Unfortunately I wasn't able to experience rafting since I have a two year old baby. But Im so happy that my sisters enjoyed this activity.
6pm when we were serenaded by the boys and informed us that dinner will be ready by 7pm. Again, I was disappointed by the taste of the food that they served at the dinner buffet. After just one round of the buffet we then decided to go back to the room and spent our time posing.

10am daw ang check out time kaya pagkakain ng almusal naghanda na rin kaming mag check out.
Pagkatapos maligo at gumayak pictures ulit.

Jump shot with the gang!
At sumakay kami kay Mutya palabas papuntang Museo.

Childred 7 years old and below are not allowed inside the museum and Bennok and I played around Lola Charing's Playground.

And that was our overnight bonding. My take on Villa Escudero:

Pros:
- convenient since only 2 to 3 hr bus ride from Manila
- no problem if your commuting
- budget wont be a problem as they offer affordable accommodation and even daytour if it was really tight
- perfect if you want a quick trip to experience province
- peaceful, relaxing place

Cons:
- no complimentary water, overpriced if you decide to buy from them since they do not allow to bring food and beverages, tsk tsk
- food was forgettable, i am not after the spread of dishes, it's fine with me if they will only serve one of each but please please please make them memorable, remember Villa Escudero projects a truly Filipino feel, gusto mo bang masabi ng mga bisita nyong foreigner na hindi masarap ang pagkaing Pilipino? 2008 ang unang punta ko dito pero bakit mas masarap ang pagkain noon? they should do something with the taste of these food that they are serving. naisip ko rin na baka pag weekdays ganun talaga ang hinahanda nila. well sana hindi naman.
- the pools are not that clean, again i thought that maybe because its a weekday, but then it should not be a reason.
- they should have a free transfer at least to and from the gate but since there are tricycles waiting I assumed it's their help to the locals.
- I also felt the discrimination since we are all locals, though there are some staffs that are really accommodating and approachable, but you can feel the unequal treatment especially from their senior staffs.
- there was no feedback forms so we can put our experience into records for their improvement.

Nevertheless it was the best out of town we've had since college days. Not because of Villa Escudero but because the four of us are complete and we had so much fun being in each other's company. Thank you ethel, bennok and nena toots for making this possible. Lalong lalo na sayo Lance maraming maraming salamat at sa uulitin! Bitin eh! Love you Sisters!!!! ;-)
