Tagaytay in December

Among the months of the year, December is my favorite. Aside from the fact that almost everyone is happy at this time of the year, maybe because of the bonus season and also the favorite time of the kids, this also happens to be my birth month. Well, speaking based from the fact that almost everyone I knew who were born on this month is like me, jolly and fun loving person. ;-)

Last December 2010 we celebrated my 30th birthday in Bicol. Will do a separate post about that 30th birthday celebration, wherein we toured Bicol Region, visited Mayon Volcano, Cagsawa Ruins, Lignon Hill, the old church, CWC and SM Naga before partying with my cousins in JPang. All expense paid trip by my ex-boyfriend,  and so December 2011 birthday is not that splendor anymore.

A big thanks to Dealgrocer, for I was able to score an overnight stay at a Premier room with buffet at Taal Vista Hotel last November 2011. So as soon as I got the voucher I immediately reserved the room.

Exactly on the day of my birthday, we were in Taal Vista hotel to celebrate. We were checked in as early as 11 am.

The hyper active baby at the hotel lobby while mommy was checking in.
The impressive Premier room with a view of the famous Taal Volcano and lake.
After settling, we decided to go to Sonya's Garden since it is one of the highly recommended B&B in the city.
We opted for their Set Buffet (Menu served in sit down style) that consists of the following:

Green Salad Greens (create your own salad of:)
Freshly harvested lettuce and arugula topped with mango, broad beans, eggs, cucumber, jackfruit, pineapple, edible flowers in season, etc., drizzled with Sonya’s Secret Dressing or Balsamic Vinegar/extra virgin olive oil.
Bread
Fresh baked whole wheat sesame bread with an array of homemade dips and toppings: basil pesto, white cheese, anchovies, bruschetta tomato toppings. mushroom pate, black olive tapinade and fresh green peppercorn in olive oil.

Pasta
With two kinds of sauces and toppings: sun dried tomato and chicken cream with mango. Topped with ratatouille, salmon belly, shitake mushrooms, black olives, capers and grated parmesan cheese, pepperoncini.

Dessert
Glazed sweet  potato ,  banana rolls with sesame & jackfruit, and smashingly sinful homemade chocolate cake from the Panaderia (enjoy with mint leaves).

Drinks
Bottomless freshly squeezed dalandan juice (green mandarin) and tarragon tea

For Php 610 Nett per person, i should say pwede na. If im goint to compare this with Bohol Bee Farm buffet, mas gusto ko yung sa BBF.

Sadly, we wasnt able to explore Tagaytay City since it was rainy at that time. So we just hang around the Taal Vista compound.

A buffet breakfast for two is already included in the deal that i purchased. Breakfast is one of the meals that daddy bee and I are looking forward to everytime we are staying in a hotel.

Taal Vista's buffet breakfast was good. The usual breakfast buffet. For me, yung congee at kape nila ang tumatak sa isip ko.

After breakfast, we just spend our remaining hours inside the room and took more pictures.

Over-all, Taal Vista Hotel is one perfect place to stay in Tagaytay, but for a hefty price. So I must say that Deal Grocer treat was one of their best deals ever. Hopefully they'll have it again so we can afford to stay here again. And also, I hope to explore Tagaytay again, but not on rainy December. ;-)
